The last time I have seen something like this was in Disneyland Paris...

When I tried out the ramp into our garage in January, the front of my Mercedes touched down on the transition between ramp and garage floor.

While I first had thought that this ramp had been simply not built for my car, Lamia had the exactly same experience the two times she drove her Nissan Micra inside. And I do not even want to think what might have happened to our neighbour who is driving a Porsche...

So it simply turned out that the ramp had been foolishly designed by the building contractor in the first place and that it had to be fixed. An intermediate solution was installed two weeks ago: a massive board to soften the slope at the end of the ramp, held in place by huge screws which had been rammed into the ground.
I tried it very slowly and carefully with my car, and it worked. But Lamia stated there had been hardly 10 mm space between the front of my car and the floor, which we fed back to our landlords.

Gunther: Everyone needs to be able
to drive into the garage!

(one of our landlords)

The contractor came, worked it and now it's done: our own, private rollercoaster ride.

They approached the problem by flattening the slope at the end significantly which should allow any car to get in okay. The consequence of this is a much steeper decline for the first few meters.

While the photo does not show this clearly, I have blended a little animated graphic into the image to illustrate this a bit more vividly.

The next photo shows this also a bit better from the inside.

While I am sure I'd be able to get into the garage now with much less problems, I am not sure at all I'd ever get out again - even without snow...
