Free gym

I think I can see these days that the regular training in the gym is really paying out. And I do not mean the satisfaction of the Wii acknowledging that I am not a fatty.

I have been running at least twice a week for a year now. At first every week on Saturdays and Sundays. When Lamia was back from China we eventually replaced one of the weekend days with one in the week and ultimately ended up with two weekdays and once a weekend - thus thrice a week.

For a year, I was starting my workout with 10 minutes of cycling (+ 3 minutes of cooling down), followed by 30 minutes of running at 1.5 degree slope and 10.5 km/h (+ 5 minutes of cooling down). Now I feel that I can do this program with less effort and am slowly increasing the speed from 10.5 to 10.6 and today to 10.7 km/h.

This works great for me and in most cases I have now less pain in my knees (versus painful climbing of stairs before) and feel healthy and energized after I am done (versus being exhausted before).

I am a little proud of this achievment and I am not sure I would have come to this without having a free gym at work...
