Good influence...

Two people close to me are considering to or will buy an iPhone soon.

Apart from being a good influence, I still have not seen any device that comes close to the amazing user interface and the seamless integration of phone, mobile email and browser, iPod and such an abundancy of really good applications, be it productivity tool, games or stuff that is simply bonkers.

Given that neither Nokia, nor RIM, nor LG, nor Samsung, nor whoever are any good at writing great software, this is not likely to change in the near future. In my eyes, the Palm Pre is still the single contender out there, though Google's Android platform might become cooler and who knows what Sony is going to do with its Playstation.

But up to now there is only one option, really, if you consider getting a smartphone...
