German #1: Anything But Love, Daniel Schuhmacher

After 10 weeks or so, Lady Gaga has been finally replaced with a new number one in the German charts. And while you might think at first that it was really time that Poker Face moved it, think twice, because the successor is the winner of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (or DSDS), Germany's version of American Idol.

Coincidentially, last week's number two, this week's number three, was former DSDS winner Mark Medlock. And as you could see from my harsh review, that one was bullshit and everyone connected to this botch should be ashamed.
Both songs come from the infamous hell hole of Dieter Bohlen, who is responsible for Modern Talking or CC Catch or pretty much 75% of the worst pop songs ever having originated from Germany.

But what about his latest money making machine?
Can Daniel Schuhmacher find mercy in my eyes?

No, he can not!
And if you watch the video and listen to the song it is easy to see why: a pretentious, sob squeezing emotional fake, sang by a mediocre talent who I guess would be the first to concede that his face really asks for a kick in the kisser.

Not that it is a big surprise that the outcome of a DSDS show would be a crap singer, being fed shit songs by Bohlen, but it is still startling that people really buy this stuff.

Hence my advice: kids! - if you really must have it, download it for free at your favourite P2P network. Much cheaper and this way everybody wins: you get what your sorry minds want and people with taste won't have to endure this media pollution for long.
