The worst online shopping experience at a company who should know better...

I appreciate good applications and I think it has to be admitted that the price for professional software can be rightfully in a 4- or 5-digit range. Obviously, this depends on the category the software competes in and it depends on what value the application can really bring to you.

When I see something like the below, though, I am getting immediately pissed off, regardless how good the software is:

Bullshitting your customer

If you choose to buy software from Adobe, they will rip you off should you pick any other language than English. Not that I could not handle English. But adding an outrageous 120 Euro just because of the language is ridiculous. Based on this logic, Lufthansa would have to charge extra money for a flight, if you don't speak German at check-in.

Even more interesting: if you flip through the different European Adobe online stores, you don't pay the same amount of money for the same product - and the differences are partly quite significant.
I christen this babylonian cost structure:

Babylonian Cost Structures

Plus: if you want to buy online, the download option costs 3 Euro more (!) than the physical delivery of a box. A mental scheme of a twisted mind who did not understand that online shopping should be first and foremost an advantage for the customer, not for the vendor!

I think Adobe makes great software.
But behaviour like this has me call for furious software piracy!
