Microsoft's second ad with Jerry and Bill (long version)
While the first ad was rather embarrassing than anything else (though having one or two nice jokes in there), this one is really good.
Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates, living with "normal" people. Awesome!
The humor is subtle and you can see how these ads will build on each other. The most important message, however, is that the two main protagonists, and especially Bill, come across like heart warming, very real people. Very different from the minimalistic Apple ads, which must look cold and technical compared to this sitcom setting.
On top, there is no mentioning of the actual product they want to sell. Everything seems to be directed to promote Bill, the face of Windows. Very clever. I would expect, though, that latest in the 3rd ad, they will come down to Vista. Let me see: so far we have met them in a store, at a families house... I think next time we could very well see them in an office environment, working as low level clerks.
