"I'm a PC"...
So, Microsoft starts this campaign to counter the bad public perception of Windows... or to counter Apple's Get A Mac ads, I am not exactly sure anymore.
So, they started with two Seinfeld ads, which were partly nice.
Then they stopped this and now run ads like the one embedded above.
Nice music, friendly faces, pretty girls, admirable people. Okay.
What I am struggling to understand is, what they are trying to achieve here.
If they want to counter a bad public perception, this is not enough actual information about Windows. If they want to counter Apple's ads, they just state that many people are using PCs, so they must be good. Hm.
While Apple's ads always try to highlight the benefits of a Mac versus a PC (sometimes right, sometimes very polemical), there is not much content in these Windows ads. Neither originality.
The ads are okay, and I guess they will work because 290 million (300 MM minus 10 MM for Seinfeld) buy a lot of airtime on TV.
I have to say, however, that this just so much demonstrates again why I do not want to use Windows: because it is not too creative and not ingenious at all.

"I'm a PC #2"
"I'm a PC #3"
Edit September 24:
Steve Ballmer is a PC and he loves this company
